This image was from a weekend photo project after reading Amélie Nothomb’s autobiographical work The Character of Rain. The book talks about the author’s childhood in Japan, where before a certain age a child is considered to be like a god, until some time later when they lose their divinity.
The image startled me. Pushing the edge literally and figuratively. It was the beginning of a project called Faceless Portrait, which I am sure now I will be reviving and nurturing back to life.
Emerging as it were, from the ruins of blank, bland walls.
